Author Göran Schildt purchased ketch Daphne in 1947 and, sailing her via the North Sea and the river routes in France to the Mediterranean, docked at her other home port on the island of Leros. During the years 1949–84, he published eight books depicting Daphne’s journeys, which were the reason the boat is well-renowned in Europe and in the United States. Leros is one of the paradise islands in Greece and it belongs to the Dodekanesia cluster of islands. The area of the island is 53 square kilometres and it has a population of 8,200. The shape of Leros is ragged, an island cleaved by deep bays and with a colourful history. The fi rst traces of settlement date back to the Neolithic Period, 8,000–3,000 years before the beginning of our time.
These sailings of ketch Daphne has inspired us to create several buffet menus in different themes like
Cafe Restaurant Daphne also offers menus for cocktails and banquette.
